Enerpac has strengthened its commitment to the rail industry with the acquisition of Track Tools technology. The purchase is part of a renewed focus by Enerpac on providing fully integrated solutions for railroads globally. Under the agreement with Track Tools, Enerpac gains exclusive worldwide rights to the Track Tools brand, its track maintenance products, and the ability to leverage Track Tools expertise in rail maintenance.

Joining a growing portfolio of Enerpac solutions for the rail industry, the Track Tools TL248 track lifting solution is easily transported wherever it is needed, fitting comfortably in the bed of a pickup truck. The lifting system is powered by four independent Enerpac hydraulic jacks which can accurately raise and lower tracks within 1/8 inch. Once deployed, the system can lift and hold up to 248 tons, enabling track maintainers to complete repairs, while also supporting the weight of trains, minimizing or eliminating service interruptions.

“With an aging infrastructure that can adversely impact shipping times, minimizing service interruptions caused by maintenance is more vital than ever,” says Paul Connolly, Enerpac’s vertical market leader for rail. “The key advantage of the TL248 system is its capacity to keep lines operating while track maintenance is being performed and most importantly, it is safer than traditional methods. Using our high-performance tools and lifting systems, we are able to help customers take on their most complex and difficult jobs safely and efficiently.”

TL248 Track Lifting Solution

The TL248 hydraulic lifting solution is specifically engineered to raise and hold railroad cross-over sections, switches, retarders, and bridge ends allowing tamping machines to operate in the upright held position. Ideal for tie replacement, it was developed in conjunction with the continuous feedback from a Class I railroad, meeting Class I specifications for operations, safety, and support materials.
