New CATS Tilt Saddles Extend the Life and Use of Enerpac Cylinders

New line is safer, more compact, and more interchangeable

MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. (August 1, 2020) – Preventing cylinder damage due to side loading just got easier with a new line of Enerpac CATS Tilt Saddles that are more durable and versatile than ever.

Reduced Side Load Damage Extends the Life of a Cylinder

Enerpac hydraulic cylinders are built to ensure efficient and safe use time after time. But even the toughest cylinders can be damaged by an excessive side load, often with the user completely unaware it is happening.

Side loading can occur even when the load is vertically placed on top of the cylinder, when cylinders are extended too far— especially long stroke cylinders—or when the saddle on the end of the plunger fails to make sufficient contact with the load.

Greater contact can still be achieved using Enerpac Tilt Saddles. Tilt Saddles are a readily available option that can be specified to work with a wide range of Enerpac cylinders to extend the life of the cylinders.

New Enerpac CATS Tilt Saddles

Enerpac is pleased to introduce the new “CATS” Tilt Saddles, which replace the current CAT and CATG products and bring the following benefits:

  • With safety and convenience in mind, the new Tilt Saddles are designed to allow bolting to the cylinder – which means they can be used safely in any orientation without the risk of the saddle dropping off.
  • The new CATS Tilt Saddles have up to 41% reduced collapsed height as compared with the outgoing CAT and CATG models – this enables use in lower-clearance situations.
  • CATS Tilt Saddles use a nitrocarburization surface treatment for improved corrosion protection, helping to maintain a professional look through their usage life.

Expanded coverage: Tilt saddles now available for use with smaller 20- and 30-ton aluminum cylinders.
